Welcome back to my newsletter! She’s been a bit on hiatus, but she’s back.
It’s been a few weeks! About 5 or 6, I think. Up until June, I was super proud of how regularly I was sending these, really only missing a week here or there. My new school schedule, while very fun, has completely taken over my days (rude), so I’ve been slowly learning how to readjust.
I think the reality here is that I’m probably *literally* doing too much, but I refuse to let everything go, because I do enjoy and care about it all. Not the worst pickle to be in, honestly.
Which reminds me of pickle chips. We all know about those, right? So tasty. If you live somewhere near Virginia and have access to Route 11 brand pickle chips, I think those are the best.
I’ve actually started drinking pickle juice as well, specifically from the Grillo’s pickle jar. IYKYK. (Mom - That’s short for if you know, you know.)
But also, am I okay? 😂 Maybe I have just been really deficient in electrolytes.
Anyways.
I bring you this week’s newsletter, everyone:
This one goes out to Caitlin (and Charlotte and Maisy), since I don’t know if I’ve ever been a part of a 4-person pound cake baking project, but it was great. We were at Lake Louisa for the night (thank you Jane Beston!), and had an excess of peaches that we turned into this cake. It was just as fun and delicious as a peach pound cake sounds like it would be. And like I said, there were literally 4 of us working on it, which was hilarious since it’s so simple. It came out so moist and peachy!
This isn’t a photo of the peach pound cake (I didn’t take any pictures at the lake, my phone was blissfully far away from me the entire time), but it is a picture of Charlotte, who was also there for the pound cake. She and Nellie are having a chat here.
BRUSH‘EM
Okay what’s the verdict, people. Are we brushing our teeth before or after coffee? I don’t think I’ve ever thought about it, I’ve just always saved morning teeth brushing for the last thing I do before I leave the house, since I usually coffee/breakfast/feed dog/get some work in all in my pajamas, before getting ready to leave for school, and brushing teeth is a part of *that* routine. But this morning I woke up, felt the urge to brush my teeth right away, it felt so great and refreshing! But now drinking coffee feels and tastes weird. I’m just wondering what other people do.
I will consolidate this data and report back on my findings.
ORIOLES
Y’all! We went to the O’s game on July 4th and not only was it a fun and good game throughout, it was a super exciting overtime where they came back and won it…and then proceeded to win the next SIX games for a SEVEN game sweep last week!
I don’t follow baseball closely, I’m lucky to have my dad to keep me updated, but it really is the most fun to have been able to see the beginning of this streak in-person. And the Orioles are so fun and easy to love—they’re such underdogs. And the mascot is cute and hilarious.
We also found this fun twitter account run either by or for French Orioles fans (or both?)
Translation: This is getting awkward, not gonna lie :)
Here’s a summer collage I made from various things I found on Pinterest. They are bringing me joy!
Hope you’re doing well, and I’m planning to come back every morning as much as is humanly possible! You heard it here people! Love you!

Nice have you back! Sub stack gave me grief though I was in computer loop Hades for a while. And I only have Mandarin words for their app and they are not polite. (Can’t be iPhone or user errors, I am sure. BWAHAHA
